Pedroia to miss ‘09 ASG

Dustin Pedroia is going to skip out on the All-Star Game this year but before you start fuming, it’s not for Manny Ramirez-esque reasons. Pedroia’s pregnant wife is currently hospitalized with “early labor complications” so he’s going to go spend some time with her.
He’ll be replaced on the roster by TB first baseman Carlos Pena, and TOR second baseman Aaron Hill will start the game.
Our thoughts go out to Pedroia and his wife.
