jonathan-van-every-in-dragThe Red Sox made two roster moves today, both dealing with players trying to recover from their respective injuries.

Jonathan Van Every, who underwent knee surgery in June, was designated for assignment by the team. He played briefly for Boston earlier this season (.364 AVG, 1 HR, 3 RBI in 11 AB) and even managed to pitch a scoreless 2/3rd of an inning when the bullpen was gassed.

The move had to be made in order to fit Jed Lowrie on the active roster. He has been sent to Single-A Lowell to continue rehabilitation on his left wrist, and is eligible to return to the big leagues on July 18th.
