Dear Theo: GET HANLEY!

We posted an article a few months ago talking about how the Red Sox were trying to swing a deal to get Hanley Ramirez back in Boston. Things eventually went south and names were never really brought to the table.
It’s now a few weeks away from spring training and the situation might have changed a little bit. Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez has started cracking down on his players hard. He’s banned long hair and told his team that they can’t wear jewelery on the field. He’s also bought everyone iPods in hopes of stopping the stereo from blaring all day in the clubhouse.
Hanley’s reaction was one of an All-Star scorned: he wrote “I’m sick of this shit” in sharpie on his shirt, grumbled to the press, and requested a trade. He’s since calmed down a little bit but what better time for the Red Sox to try and snag him up? Clay Buchholz and Jed Lowrie have both had amazing springs that have sent their stock soaring through the roof. Could we really be lucky enough to have Hanley back in Fenway?
(PS: I can’t help but think of another very talented Ramirez when I think about this story. Ugh..)
