Sean Casey officially retires

I’m not sure what Sean Casey did to piss off Terry Francona last year but it must have been something major. He ended the season with a .322 AVG and a .381 OBP yet he only got 2 at-bats in the playoffs and only 199 all year long.
Anyway, that’s all in the past as Sean Casey has announced today that he’s officially retiring and join the staff of the MLB Network. He will end his 11-year career with a .302 AVG, 130 HR, and 735 RBI.

That really was strange… I know Kotasy was an upgrade on defense, but Casey is probably the better hitter.
It’s hard to imagine that “The Mayor” pissed someone off, but you never know…
Yeah, I don’t know what he could have possibly done to deserve the lack of playing time. Watching Kotsay (who hit around .222 with the Sox) at-bat and knowing Casey was just sitting on the bench was painful.
