ALCS, here we come!

Last night’s game became an instant Red Sox classic.
It started with Jon Lester being nothing short of dominating. He went 7 strong innings, giving up only a handful of hits and no runs.
Dustin Pedroia got his first hit of the series by banging an RBI double off the wall in the 5th inning.
Then there was the insane slider turned 4-seam fastball from Justin Masterson that almost pegged Jason Varitek in the face.
In the 9th came the missed suicide squeeze bunt play that turned into a game of pickle between Angels runner Reggie Willits and Varitek. Varitek won, and when asked if he was worried whether Willits could have been safe, he quoted “Not with my speed.”
Oh yeah, don’t forget about the walk-off base hit by rookie shortstop Jed Lowrie.
Sure, I still want to punch TBS and FrankTV in the face; Boston Auto Auction commercials still make me want to buy a car from anybody else; and the start-times created by the MLB still make me want to bitchslap somebody in the front office.
None of that really matters at the moment though. All the matters is that the Red Sox advance to the ALCS to take on their division rival Tampa Bay Rays.
Bring it on.

I give our guys a ton of credit, but looking back the Angels really blew this series with errors and bad decisions… I wonder if Scoscia and Co. might start playing a little LESS aggresive… it hasn’t really been working out so well in the postseason…
Bring on the Rays!
Yeah agreed. They kind of handed the series over with all their errors and mistakes. Then again, that is what makes a good ball club. Good clubs don’t make those mistakes.
Great game!!!! Although I do agree with you on the time slot, and I live in the central time zone. Even though I bleed Cardinal red, I HAVE to pull for the Red Sox. They are a real team with true baseball tradition. I can hardly handle the fact that the Red Sox have to play beneath themselves against the Rays. Go Red Sox, on to the World Series!!!!!
Thanks for your support Tommy! Most people seem to be hating the Red Sox nowadays (it’s the fashionable thing to do for some reason.) Refreshing to hear from someone that still has a love of the game and doesn’t make decisions based on the ‘Red Sox Nation’ crap that ESPN spouts off.
