Lowell removed from playoff roster

Mike Lowell and his gimpy hip have officially been removed from the roster. I wasn’t sure why Tito put him on it to begin with, and this validates my concerns, as does the 0-8 so far in the ALDS.
In addition to being inactive for the rest of this series, Lowell won’t be able to be placed on the ALCS roster (if the Red Sox make it there.) His roster spot has been filled by infielder Gil Velazquez. Yeah, Velazquez, the guy who spent 11 years in the minors and in his major league debut he ran into JD Drew in right field. That guy.
