Buchholz sent to Arizona Fall League

In the past year, Clay Buchholz has looked downright dominating to absolutely foolish. Unfortunately for him and the Red Sox, it’s been more of the latter than the former.
His season unraveled rather quickly as he was sent down to Pawtucket for some ‘rehab.’ He crushed the Triple-A competition and was brought up to Boston, only to fail miserably. That was the final straw and management decided he would be better suited to try and regain his form in Double-A Portland. In his 3 starts for the Sea Dogs (2 regular season and 1 playoff), Buchholz gave up 7 runs in 21 innings.
Management isn’t ready for their star to burn out so they have decided to have Buchholz throw 25 innings in the Arizona Fall League. The AFL is generally used to groom Double-A prospects but there is nobody that needs more grooming right now than Clay Buchholz does.

This is a smart move… It keeps Buckly working and shows that the Sox still have confidence in him and expect him to be in Boston next year.
The Sox are going to sign a FA starter (write it down), so Buck y could be the No. 5… eespecially if they opt to keep Masterson in the pen… but that’s a conversation for Feb. - we’ve go a division to win!
Yeah, it’s a shame to watch him slip so far though. He’ll be back for sure, just have to give him time.
I think they might try for Sabathia. I kind of wish they would go for Sheets but he’s as fragile as can be.
