Youkilis nominated for Roberto Clemente Award

Every year Major League Baseball nominates a player from each team that they think “best exemplifies the game of baseball, sportsmanship, community involvement and the individual’s contribution to his team.” This year’s nominee from the Red Sox is none other than first baseman Kevin Youkilis.

Youk and his hot fiancee Enza Sambataro run the charity Hits For Kids. The organization currently focuses on the health and well-being of children in New England and Cincinnati but has plans to include everywhere that they can help out.

He may get angry as hell on the field but that’s no reason to discount the good that Kevin Youkilis has done. Thousands of children in hundreds of communities are now better off because of him and the things that he’s accomplished. Congrats Youk.

My question on Youk (first shoulder from lifting? then back spasm; Lowell out, Beckect out, Wakefield out) who next?

I am a diehard Sox fan, however it looks like the Angels have it this year.

I dunno. The Sox are still doing pretty well even without half of their players healthy. Imagine if they all come back at the end of the season.
