Aside from this afternoon’s game culminating in a walkoff win for the Red Sox, there were a few other subplots.
- Red Sox fans have helped their team tie the all-time record for most consecutive sold-out home games (455). The record should be broken next Monday against the Rays.
- Kevin Youkilis is still suffering from back spasms and his missed his second straight game.
- Daisuke Matsuzaka only lasted 6 innings today thanks to 4 walks and 112 pitches.
- Dustin Pedroia went 3-4 with a solo HR. Can he be stopped?
