This is completely outrageous! It's not as bad as that time I got kicked out of Britney's "ONYX HOTEL TOUR" when I tried to take a leak during "Touch of my Hand". I took the name of the song a bit too literal.

Seriously though, "God Bless America" is JUST a song. I don't care where it's being played. I don't even care if this fella told the guard to go F himself. There's no reason to be escorted out of the place. I'd like to hear these "lesser offenses" for getting kicked out of Yankee Stadium.

Alright, first off, the Yankees have police (who work for the state) at the games. They also got money from the state to build the new Yankee Stadium (essentially). So it's a bit of a stretch to say that they're a completely private organization and that they have nothing to do with 'state.'

Second, when did I ever mention the Constitution? Don't be silly and put words in my mouth. Separation of church and state is more a theory that exists because of all the precedents set in the United States court system. (also to say that the establishment clause in the Constitution was written only to protect religion is absurdity.)

Hell, if you'd rather go the free speech route, we can do that instead.

My points were pretty much:
A. It's stupid to play God Bless America during the 7th inning stretch.
B. It's stupider to force someone to sit in their seat for it.

Actually, there is no seperation of church and state in the US Constitution, rather there is mention of "freedom OF religion" - not freedom FROM religion... Moreover, the seperation of church and state comes from a letter written to assuage the fears of some religious leaders - it was meant to protect religion from the state - not the other way around.

Wow. That is pretty ridiculous, yet funny. However, you have no understanding of the Separation of Church and State if you think that applies here. This was not a court hearing, or a congressional session. It was a baseball game. While this incident was silly to have happened, you know for a fact that you can chalk this up to his being a Red Sox fan at a Yankees game. Don't insult rationale and sandwich it with the SOCAS. I think you're smarter than that.

"playing the song pretty much spits in the face of the separation of church and state"

I wasn't aware that the Yankees were owned by the federal, state or local government. Do you have any actual idea what separation of church and state it? The Yankees are a private organization, they could burn crosses in the outfield during the 7th inning stretch if they wanted to. The Yankees started playing it after 9/11...I think that's reason enough.

He was obviously antagonizing. I've gotten up and gone to the bathroom before during it at the stadium. The difference is that I wasn't dressed in Red Sox garb and if anyone had asked me what I was doing I would have calmly told them I had to use the bathroom instead of saying I didn't care about it. He probably said more than that, but he wouldn't get pity from you people if he told the whole story.

FYI, I've seen people get kicked out of Yankee Stadium for far less within the past few years. It doesn't take much. You make trouble, you go, period.
