The Red Sox have put pitcher Tim Wakefield on the DL due to tightness in the back of his right shoulder. This was the same problem that caused Wake to miss the World Series last season. There is no mention yet as to who will take his place in the rotation.
Wakefield is having one of his best seasons as a professional pitcher. He is 7-8 with a 3.67 ERA and 98 strikeouts in an impressive 147 innings. He’ll definitely be missed as the season winds down.
