We mentioned in a post yesterday that the Red Sox claimed Brian Giles off waivers from the Padres. Giles had a limited no-trade clause in his contract that included 10 teams, one of them being Boston. He has activated the clause and will not be traded to the Sox.
Lansdowne 9 has a pretty good piece on Giles and his inflated HR numbers during the steroid era. Check it out, and be happy that he didn’t come to Boston.
