Jed Lowrie ties Julio Lugo in RBI

Yesterday I wrote an article about how poorly Julio Lugo has performed and how good Jed Lowrie looks playing shortstop. I mentioned that Lowrie was only 2 RBI behind Lugo’s total for the season despite having approximately 160 less chances.
That didn’t last for very long as Jed drove in another 2 runs during last night’s win over Kansas City. Rob posted some stats on Lansdowne 9 that show how Lowrie managed to rack up so many RBI in so many less plate appearances:
Runners in Scoring Position: Lowrie – .300 BA / .786 OPS | Lugo – .139 BA / .429 OPS
Men on 3rd w/ < 2 outs: Lowrie – .455 BA / 1.284 OPS | Lugo – .158 BA / .458 OPS
Nasty.

Thanks for the plug Mike!
Jed Lowrie is officially my new favorite player!
But can he keep this up? I sure hope so…
No problemo. Yeah I hope he can too, I like him. It seems like every single time he gets up with RISP, he crushes the ball. Even last night he HAMMERED one to deep center that ended up getting caught. Kid is nassssty.
