Is Freddy Garcia the answer?

We mentioned in February that the Red Sox met with overweight and out-of-a-job pitcher Freddy Garcia. The time has finally come for Garcia to hold a work-out for interested teams. Boston has sent Allard Baird (head of the scouting department) to check things out.

I personally doubt that Garcia will be able to contribute anything this season. He’s just now getting back to pitching form. We’ll see how this pans out but with Bartolo Colon waiting in the wings for Boston, I wouldn’t hold my breath on them signing Garcia.
