Manny’s arrival in LA

Manny Ramirez arrived in L.A. today. He chose the absurd jersey number 99 and had a big long goofy Manny-esque press conference. No surprises there, but something DID happen that amused the hell out of me yet it wasn’t anything that he was involved with.

Instead it was something that ESPN did as a form of guerrilla marketing to welcome Manny to his new team. They left a bunch of red socks (red socks? red sox? get it?) around laundromats in the L.A. area. Check them out:
