Colon working his way back

Big Bartolo finally seems to be making his way back to the big leagues. Colon injured himself while taking a Babe Ruthian swing at a pitch on June 16th. He went on the DL the very next day with what was described as a ‘lower back strain.’ But now he has pitched two side sessions in four days and appears ready to return.
Terry Francona estimates that Colon will make a minor league rehab start approximately a week from now. I’m guessing that he’ll make more than one rehab start because the Red Sox rotation seems pretty set so there is no need to rush him.
Someone will have to be booted once Colon returns and it will more than likely be Clay Buchholz unless he puts together a good string of starts. If that happens, then everything will be up in the air. The club has said a couple times that they won’t put Colon in the pen but Beckett-Lester-Matsuzaka-Wakefield is a VERY solid rotation with every starter possessing an ERA below 4.
Maybe it IS possible to have too much pitching depth.
