Fantasy Baseball Generals: An amazing article about first time ballpark visits. The first game I was supposed to go to was the Red Sox and Twins. I was more excited about seeing Gary Puckett in person than anything else (that should give some insight to the sad state of Red Sox baseball during my childhood.) The game got rained out and I eventually saw a Nomar walkoff against the Seattle Mariners in my first Fenway experience.
Tirico Suave: I’m not the only one annoyed by the portrayal of Josh Hamilton as a hero. He may be a hero to other drug addicts but he got himself in the situation that he was in.
Center Field: This list is amazing. It really shows you just what the word ‘prospect’ really means. We’ve had a great string lately where a lot of them have panned out but for every 1 that makes it, there are 10 that don’t.
The Ropolitans: How dramatic, eh?
More Hardball: There is no doubt in my mind that the Red Sox weren’t completely sold on the incredibly overhyped Andy Marte and that is why they used him to get Coco. They traded him before Mike Lowell had even played a single game with the Red Sox.
Baseball Reflections: Yep, the NL West is a pretty big joke and it has been for years. They all have pretty good players on their clubs (minus the Giants) yet they just can’t seem to put it together.
Bleeding Blue and Teal: The Red Sox inquired about trading for J.J. Putz and were denied. I guess it’s not ENTIRELY a rebuilding year in Seattle.
Fire Ned Colleti: Juan Pierre is one of the worst leadoff men of all time. I want to smack everyone that uses the speed > OBP is good for a leadoff guy argument. I’m looking at you Joe Morgan!
The Sports Muffin: Yeah, it’s not the vat overpaying for underperforming players and the WAY below .500 record that is deterring fans from visiting Safeco Field, it’s the peanuts..
You Been Blinded: You’ve probably already heard about the Peoria Chief’s pitcher getting arrested for hitting a fan with a baseball. Now check out the videos.
Hacks with Haggs: This seems like the 50th year in a row that the Red Sox have been mentioned in trade talks for reliever Eddie Guardado.
