I know that I usually post these on Fridays but there is a ton of relevant baseball news with the All-Star break happening so here is a bit of a “mini-Friday Linkage.”
Larry Brown Sports: Chase Utley has rocketed from one of the best 2B in the league to one of my favorite players ever; and all he had to do was tell thousands of New Yorkers to go f themselves on live TV. Awesome.
Tribe Time Report: Grady Sizemore was impressing all sorts of people at the Home Run Derby before Josh Hamilton stole the show. I’m a big fan of Sizemore but I wish he was just a tad bit uglier; I think my girlfriend likes him more than she should.
Surving Grady: The greatest ASG of all-time as far as I’m concerned. Re-watching these clips only strengthens my resolve for going to Cooperstown for Pedro’s induction ceremony.
Bugs & Cranks: “Jeter gets far more girls than his fielding talents should allow.” ‘Nuff said.
Epic Carnival: Could Roy Halladay be asking for a trade in so-few words? He’s locked up with Toronto until 2010 and by then he’ll be approaching the 5 billion complete games thrown mark.
Hot Stove Philly: I’m not sure if I would call Jarrod Washburn a member of the “B List.” Then again, I wouldn’t call AJ Burnett a member of the “A List” so what do I know?
Sports Column: One of the funnier pranks I’ve seen. A guy dresses up in a Phillies uniform and just signs random autographs banking on the fact that Phillies fans don’t know who their players (Kidding, kidding. Don’t send me hate mail!)
We’ve Got Heart: Wily Mo Pena’s shoulder is going to need surgery. Chris Carter could never make it as a full-time player in Boston and I would STILL think we got the better end of that trade. Sorry WMP.
Awful Announcing: Why doesn’t this ever happen at Fenway? We only get the fat chicks in bras running onto the field or drunk frat kids getting tackled in left field. Touche Toronto. (But seriously.. what in the world could have been going on in that hotel room?!)
