Good news has surfaced on the Big Papi front. The hurt DH will begin his rehab assignment next Thursday with Triple-A Pawtucket. He’s been out since June 1st with a torn tendon sheath in his left wrist.

Ortiz expects his rehab to take between 8-10 games. That would give him a return of early August, just in time for an AL Central road trip.

It will be great when the Sox have the Manny, Papi 1-2 punch again…I really didn’t think he would be back this season but it is beginning to look like he will be ok.

I had a feeling he would be back. Not sure how effective he will be though. I guess we’ll see.
