I’m a self-proclaimed stat-geek so it excites me whenever The Globe posts obscure stats from statistician Chuck Waseleski of Millers Falls. Check them out:

20-18
The Red Sox are the only major league team with a winning record when their pitcher does not produce a quality start (20-18).

8
Jacoby Ellsbury has scored eight runs without anyone getting an RBI.

3.32
Red Sox starting pitchers have a 3.32 ERA in June, best in the American League.

.197
Opponents are batting .197 against Manny Delcarmen with runners on base.

17
Seventeen of Mike Lowell’s 43 RBIs have come with the bases loaded. He is 5 for 10 with the bases loaded.

.143
Opponents are batting .143 against Hideki Okajima after a first-pitch strike, .326 after a first-pitch ball, and .478 on the first pitch.

0.49
David Aardsma’s ERA is 0.49 in 16 road games.
