Small White Ball: Boy, Shawn Chacon sure is a classy fella. He has officially been suspended for leaping on his GM and choking him after the GM suggested Chacon move to the bullpen and telling him that he needed to “look in a mirror.”

The Fightins’: Minor league teams will basically do ANYTHING to get you to come to their ballpark. Including a Spam carving contest.

The Bottom Line: I was going to write a post about how well the Sox young pitchers are doing in Pawtucket but why bother when The Bottom Line has done it so much better?

Inside The Ballpark: Not only is Lance Berkman going to be a Hall of Famer, but he is also apparently a REALLY nice guy. $100 grand of his salary every year gets donated to a club charity AND he runs his own called ‘Berkman’s Bunch.’ Maybe some of his goodness will offset Shawn Chacon’s badness.

Fire Ned Colletti Now: Nomah has a genetic predisposition that causes him to be injured more often and longer than the majority of the human population. Did he really need a doctor to tell him that? I could have made a pretty good guess about what is wrong with him after the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

The Sports Muffin: A debate on the CY Young award winner for this year and not even a tiny mention of Jon Lester or Daisuke Matsuzaka? For shame sirs.

Baseball Musings: A bit of tension in the NESN broadcast booth between Remdawg and the ever annoying Heidi Watney? I hope so because I wouldn’t mind seeing Heidi and her lack of ANY knowledge about ANY sport get booted out of the studio.

Home Run Derby: This guy has created one of the most unique and clever baseball jerseys ever. Somehow though, I don’t think he’s a fan of Fukudome AND Thome; I think he’s trying to send a different kind of a message.

First of all, thanks for the plug.

Now, for the purposes of a good ol’ baseball debate. I didn’t put Jon Lester on the Cy Young list because he only has 6 wins, and has an ERA in the mid-3’s. Not really Cy Young material. And as far as Matsuzaka? I considered him. But dismissed him. The record is nice. The ERA is pretty good. The WHIP is average. Alright, you convinced me, maybe he deserves an honorable mention, but not much more than that.

Well prior to last night, Lester had a 3.18 ERA. The Astros changed that in a heartbeat though as I’d imagine it’s more like 3.5 now.

Also I don’t really agree with Daisuke getting a nod for Cy Young. To be honest, his walks are atrocious.
