Kevin Youkilis gets hit in the face with a baseball

Kevin Youkilis was hit in the face by a bouncing warmup throw from Mike Lowell before the 5th inning in last night’s game. I was at the park and a hush came over the crowd as they immediately thought the worst (the irony is that right before it happened, they played a Tony Conigliaro tribute video at Fenway.) His eye kept getting more swollen with every second that passed so Francona took him out and replaced him at first-base with Brandon Moss.
Luckily they ran a CT scan on his face and it came back negative. If the swelling goes down then he should be a go for tonight’s game. If not, then Brandon Moss will more than likely get the start because Sean Casey is still serving his suspension.
