Big Papi left last night’s game in the 9th inning with a left wrist injury after swinging at a pitch and feeling a nasty pop. X-Rays were negative and he is listed as day-to-day with a sprain.
He definitely won’t make the start in this afternoon’s game (Manny is going to DH) and I wouldn’t be surprised if they give him a few days off to rest the wrist. If it doesn’t feel any better, he’ll get it MRI’ed.
