Ex-reliever Geremi Gonzalez was struck by lightning and killed yesterday. He was only 33 years old.
Gonzalez pitched for our atrocious bullpen in 2005. He had a 6.11 ERA in 56 innings pitched. He was picked up as a free agent after playing for the Cubs, Rangers, and Devil Rays.
Although he wasn’t the best of relievers, he still seemed like a really nice guy and we extend our sympathies to his family and friends.
