I’ve always had an addiction to Red Sox merchandise. When I was a kid, my room resembled that of Jimmy Fallon’s in that horrible Fever Pitch movie. As I got older, it thinned out a bit but it still held true to the Sox addict inside me.
Growing up in Connecticut and rooting for what was a mediocre team at best, it was a bit tough to find things to represent my fandom; however, Yankee crap was everywhere. I used to go into stores and whenever I would see a New York t-shirt, I would turn it around so that nobody could see the logo. It infuriated me that their stuff was everywhere but if I wanted a Troy O’Leary jersey I couldn’t get one no matter how hard I tried.
Well now I live in Boston, we’re World Series champions, and the Internet is in almost every home. There couldn’t be a better time to have a merch obsession like mine. It’s because of this that I decided to start a ‘Merchandise’ category here on Sox Addict. It’ll give you guys an idea of what you want to waste your paychecks on as well as give me an opportunity to show off all the junk I’ve spent my own money on.
Prepare for post after post of candy, mugs, t-shirts, jerseys, ice cream, key chains, stickers, and more.
