Interesting Stat for today

Here’s something intriguing that the Boston Globe pointed out today: The Red Sox have had 4 straight pitchers go 7 or more innings and allow 2 runs or less. The last time that happened was 11 years ago.

Clay Buchholz: 8 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs
Josh Beckett: 7 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 13 strikeouts
Jon Lester: 8 innings, 1 hit, no runs
Daisuke Matsuzaka: 7 innings, 2 hits, no runs

I think thats a bit more like the starting rotation we expected when the season started.

    lets hope the offense comes around, cause those pitching # ain’t gonna last forever…

    Thats for sure. Our offense has been asleep for a few weeks now.
