Bryan Corey is back!

Pitcher Justin Masterson was sent back down to the minors today and reliever Bryan Corey was brought up in his place. Masterson just finished a somewhat brilliant major league debut as he went 6 innings yesterday, only yielding 2 hits and 1 run.
Corey should hopefully help our struggling bullpen out a little bit. If you don’t remember who Bryan Corey is then you have some pretty bad short-term memory as he was only designated for assignment 15 days ago (link). Most Sox fans and ownership thought he would be scooped up by another team either via waivers or a trade but he, exactly like Kyle Snyder, accepted an assignment to Pawtucket.
Manny Delcarmen is still sick with the flu, even though he pitched (if thats what you call that..) in yesterdays game. Javier Lopez is struggling with his command. Mike Timlin is having some issues of his own as well.
All in all, our pitching isn’t looking so hot at the moment. Hopefully Corey can give them a fresh arm and a bit of a boost.
