I’m afraid I’ve got more bad news on the injury front. OF Bobby Kielty (currently on the DL in Pawtucket) has had surgery on his left hand to remove a bone spur. He will be out 4-6 weeks at the minimum.

This isn’t good news for the Red Sox. The assumed plan was to trade Coco (who are we kidding? Ellsbury IS the starting CF.) and bring up Kielty for a back-up role. With no Kielty, the idea of trading Coco seems even more unbelievable than it did the first time someone suggested we trade a Gold Glove caliber outfielder for next to nothing.

Where’s Gabe Kapler when you need him?

Oh yeah, he’s in Milwaukee hitting .333 with 4 HR, 13 RBI, and a .667 SLG %. Woops?
