Ready for these numbers?

2007 = 15-3, 159 strikeouts, 1.72 ERA, MVP winner
2006 = 11-2, 1.82 ERA

Those are the stats of pitcher Terumasa Matsuo.  Matsuo was signed to a minor league contract with the Red Sox yesterday.  He was previously playing in the Independent Shikoku Island League in Japan.

He’ll report to Fort Myers for an extended spring training this week.  He may have put those numbers up in an indie league but our pitching depth keeps growing.

    Found your site through Ball Hype.

    Good stuff. I’ve added you to my Blog roll… would you be willing to do the same and add The Bottom Line to you list of Red Sox Links?

    Let’s hope Dice-K doesn’t need 100 pitches to get through 5 innings again tonight!

    Go Sox!
