Ticket prices keep on rising

If you’ve been to Fenway (or tried to go) anytime at all in the past 5 years, nothing I am going to say will shock you.

Ticket prices in major league baseball have risen 10.9% for this upcoming season.  The average ticket price is now $25.40.

Ticket prices for the Red Sox have risen 10.1%.  The average ticket price is now $48.80.  By far the most expensive in the league.  Second place is the Chicago Cubs at $42.49 (up 23.9% from last season.)

Here is where the numbers become scary: the average fan cost index (four average tickets, two small beers, four small sodas, four hot dogs, parking for one car, two game programs, and two adult-sized caps) aka average price for a family outing is.. $320.71.

I know that everyone praises John Henry and company for modernizing Fenway Park but who can afford $320 to take their family to a ballgame?  Give me a break..
