Daisuke Matsuzaka’s wife has her kid

Mrs. Matsuzaka gave birth to a healthy 6 lb 10 oz baby boy today. This is great news for their family and all but.. even better news for the Red Sox and their fans.

This means that at least ONE of our starters in Japan is no longer a question mark. Tito has said that Beckett is more than likely a no-go for that opening series in Asia despite his back improving every day. This makes the fact that Dice-K is available even more important as it doesn’t seem like a good way to start the season by throwing a #3 and #4 out there to begin with.
