I still can’t afford tickets but this offseason the Sox ownership has made a few steps in the right direction with seating additions. 120 seats worth of luxury boxes were removed in an effort to allow the common man to attend more than 1 game per season. The boxes were replaced with room for 960 additional tickets.

The majority of the tickets (412 seats) will be in a new portion of the ballpark called the ‘Coca Cola Corner.’ The Corner will include ‘family friendly’ picnic tables available for $75 a seat. (Are you kidding? 75 bucks a piece is their idea of seating for the common man?!) In addition, 100 standing room only tickets have been added for a slightly more appropriate $25 a ticket.

These are just a few of the changes made to the ballpark this season. You can read about more of them on The Boston Globe’s website.
